Google recently announced the features of its whole new Android Jellybean tablet. The Android Jellybean or the Android v4.1 is the latest of all the Android versions and is the successor of Android Ice-Cream Sandwich. The Android Jellybean doesn’t bring a lot of changes like the iOS 6 but it is still far better than its predecessor. Google has named its tablet – Google Nexus 7. Google Nexus 7 is having a lot of amazing features too, likewise it’s operating system but this just doesn’t meant that it can take down the already well established market of Samsung Galaxy Tab. The Google Nexus 7 was announced in the Google I/O 2012 and is still not available in India and a lot of other countries where other Nexus devices are available. Google Nexus 7 is the direct competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 7”. So, without wasting a lot of time, let’s get started with the – Google Nexus 7 vs Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 7”

Operating System

As mentioned above Google Nexus 7 is having Android Jellybean while the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 the Android v4.0 or the Ice-Cream Sandwich. Clearly, the features of Jellybean are better than that of ICS.

Memory

Google Nexus 7 is available for pre-order in two variants – 8GB internal memory and 16GB internal memory while the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 is available in 3 variants – 8GB, 16GB and 32GB. There is no expandable memory slot in Nexus 7 while there is one expandable memory slot in Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 that can make your total memory 64GB.

Processor

The clock speed and the cumulative clock speed of both the tablets is quite good but in case of Google Nexus 7, it’s having a 1.3GHz quad core Cortex A9 processor while the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 is having just 1GHz dual core processor. Moreover, the Nexus 7 is having ULP GeForce GPU while Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 is having PowerVR SGX540 GPU.

Camera

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 is having a 3.15MP primary camera with features like smile detection etc while Nexus 7 is having features like video calling with a 1.3MP front camera. There is even a secondary camera in Galaxy tab.

Data Connectivity

The data connectivity features vary a lot in both the tablets. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 is having 3G, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, WLAN etc but the Nexus 7 is having NFC , Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a microUSB port. We won’t be able to make calls from Nexus 7 while we can do so from the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0.

Display

The display quality of both the tablets is just mind blowing . Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 is having 7inch display screen with 170ppi pixel density and PLS LCD Capacitive touchscreen while Nexus 7 is having the same screen size with 216ppi pixel density and LED Backlit capacitive touchscreen. The resolution size of Nexus 7 too is far better than the Galaxy Tab.
